Area of Study

Areas of interest to me include virtual and augmented reality, virtual environments, gesture interfaces, communication over digital media, and the field of human-computer interaction in general. The blending of artwork and technology in areas such as video games and web design have always been a passion of mine. I also believe in critiquing current technologies and practices in order to develop a better and more inclusive future.

Currently, I'm a Graduate Research Assistant for the Social Informatics side of the [Center for Human Computer Interaction] paid through Virginia Tech's [ICAT]. Specifically, I'm working on the Technology on the Trail iniative that aims to study how technology does and doesn't adapt to the great outdoors, and what if any importance various technologies have for hikers. More information is available on [the blog] I help maintain.

School Background

I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and Summa Cum Laude from Bradley University with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Interactive Media. I'm working towards a Master's in Computer Science at Virginia Tech where I do research in the field of human-computer interaction with the Institute of Creativity, Arts, and Technology.
